Ticketfly is a social ticketing platform for professional event promoters. The San Francisco-based company boasts an office environment with a significant hip quotient. Because of a sudden growth spurt they asked us to develop workstations to accommodate new staff. The only caveat was a limited budget. True to form, we designed a series of simple, but wellcrafted, workstations made of steel legs and laminate tops with opaque chicken wire glass dividers. Filing cabinets are powder-coated steel.
The steel I-beam base supporting the conference table reflects the industrial quality of the space. However, the physical and visual weight of the table, as opposed to the lighter, minimally detailed workstations, says plenty about its importance. Developing an aesthetic that speaks to the company’s dual culture – think rock ‘n’ roll meets high tech – was a challenge. We believe that the combination of materials with simple forms and details achieved that delicate balance.
